Jerry Leibel



As the original founder of Leibel Insurance Group in 1981, Jerry started his insurance career in 1970, and has been an asset to the Insurance Industry as a whole for 46 years. His leadership and knowledge has helped grow Leibel into the business it is today. Jerry is currently in the process of retiring, and is enjoying the Snow Bird life!

Chad entered the insurance industry in which he joined his father and brother in 2003 and is currently the Vice President and a Partner in the family brokerage.  He began his insurance career initially in personal lines sales and service and at this time is focused primarily on technological improvements, advancing digital platforms, website development and improving online lead generation.   Due to his very forward thinking and innovation, Leibel Insurance Group now has some of the most sophisticated technology on the market today, in which has enhanced the Company’s long term success. In addition, Chad is a key asset in the recruitment of a strong team of staff – one of Leibel’s biggest strengths – and an accomplishment he is most proud of.

Steve Leibel, liaison for our commercial lines department, has worked for Leibel Insurance Group for the past 21 years. In addition to his comprehensive experience, knowledge, superior service and understanding of risk, Steve’s clients enjoy his energetic and aggressive approach to solving their risk management needs. As their outsourced risk manager, Steve’s dedication enables his clients to focus on growing their corporations. His typical clientele are Construction, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Transportation, and Realty. Steve enjoys cycling, swimming, running, skiing and golfing, and he volunteers for The Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Travis Murray

Branch Manager

Travis began his insurance journey in 2006 after a successful career as a Compliance V.P. in the securities industry. In addition to being the recipient of multiple customer service awards over the years, Travis is best known for his coaching and mentoring skills which bring out the best in his people and help them to reach their full potential. This skill and capability building has been key to Travis’ success in leading his teams and driving performance. Travis loves that insurance is a lifelong journey of learning and growth. This ties into his other passion for the industry which is the design, creation and facilitation of educational programs. When not at work Travis enjoys hanging out with his family, playing guitar, cooking, biking, softball and drawing.


Kayla Cuevas, CAIB

Personal Lines Team Lead

Kayla has been in the industry since 2012, specializing in personal lines home and auto insurance. She loves teaching people how insurance protects their assets. She also loves learning so she can provide her clients with more, which is why she decided to get her Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker designation. When she is not learning or educating her clients, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family.

Bill Shuster, BA, CAIB

Personal Lines Account Manager

Bill has been in the insurance industry for over 15 years and has spent the last 8 years working as a group insurance specialist.

Bill’s focus is to educate his clients in regards to the benefits of a group insurance program and to make certain that his clients have peace of mind. His primary goal is to ensure that his clients are always properly insured. Bill has a proven sales and service record with both national and local brokerages.

Bill enjoys traveling and spending time with his young family. He and his family also volunteer with the Autism Society of Edmonton.


Sarah Milenbach

Life, Financial Services and Personal Lines Broker

Sarah joined the insurance industry in 2011, coming from a background of customer service and business management. She specializes in personal home and auto insurance and life and living benefits insurance.

Professionally, she has achieved and continues to work towards her goal of creating lasting client relationships built on a foundation of strong ethics, knowledge and exceptional customer service. Sarah is passionate in providing clients with the information they need and consideration they deserve to help better protect their families and futures.

Having lived all over Canada and the United States, Sarah continues to enjoy travel and the experience of new customs, cultures and cuisines.

Tracey Leblanc, CAIB

Personal Lines Account Manager

Tracey has been in the personal insurance industry since 2003 and has been with Leibel since 2013. Her years of experience, and her ongoing educational pursuits have made her one of our most capable insurance advisors, both in personal home & auto insurance, as well as small commercial risks. She began her career as a receptionist in a family run brokerage, and quickly moved up to the position of account manager, earning her CAIB designation along the way. Tracey enjoys being active with her family, especially camping & walking the family dog.

Krista Wilson, BBA

Personal Lines Account Manager

Krista has a business degree from the University of New Brunswick and  started her insurance career in Newfoundland in 1999. Shortly thereafter she moved to Alberta and has been working with personal home and auto insurance ever since. Krista believes that great customer service is doing what is right for the client. She always has her client’s best interest as top priority and provides that “best friend” advice.

When Krista is not working with her clients, she spends her time outdoors. She enjoys camping, boating, and spending time at the lake.

Ashley Kramar

Personal Lines Account Manager

Ashley has been in the Insurance Industry since 2007 and has loved every minute of it. Her warm and cheerful manner makes her a delight to interact with. She loves taking care of her clients and makes it her daily mission to ensure they are happy and educated about the products they are purchasing. When she isn’t building relationships with her clients, she loves to camp and spend time with her friends, as well as paint and read.  She is also currently working towards her Chartered Insurance Professional designation.

Sara has been in the insurance industry since 2011 with a background in small business and real estate. Sara has the ability to put people at ease and strives to ensure that everybody has the best experience when dealing with their insurance needs. Getting to deal with people everyday is what excites Sara about her profession and gives her the energy to provide quick service, stay on top of the changes in the industry, and ensure that her clients are properly insured.

On her time off she can be found chauffeuring her kids around hockey rinks, baseball diamonds, and football fields or exploring the beautiful lakes in Western Canada with her family. You may also find Sara volunteering in the community for her children’s sports or most recently as Treasurer for Canadian Mental Health Association.

Kristen has been in the Insurance Industry since 2003, she is passionate about assisting her clients with all of their insurance needs. She recently obtained her CRM designation with the University of Alberta, and is excited to continue growing her career with Leibel Insurance Group.

Susan began her journey in the insurance industry in 2003 helping personal lines clients with their home and auto insurance. Her goal is to provide every client with the best assistance and kindness they desire. She is passionate about what she does and tackles her day to day with ease.

When Susan is not working she loves spending time with her husband, daughter and twin boys at the lake camping and boating.

Jessica Griffin brings ample experience to the Leibel Insurance team. Having started her career in 2006 and completing her CIP designation in 2016, Jessica’s skills are evident in her work and client relations. This is transferred from her belief in providing exceptional customer service, and building relationships with her clients.

Jessica spends her time away from work with her husband and their two sons, either out and about exploring Edmonton, or hanging out at home.

Originally from Edmonton and now happily based in Calgary, Jennifer is pleased to join the Leibel team. Having started in the insurance industry in 2003, she utilizes her knowledge and expertise to build trusting relationships with her clients and find the right insurance coverage to meet their needs. Jennifer earned her CIP designation in 2010, and continues to further her education in her spare time. Jennifer also enjoys the company of family and friends, traveling, and cooking.

Andrea started her career in 2000 working in a Northern Alberta town exposing her to hands on knowledge of oil and gas industry, logging and farm operations to add to her personal lines experience. This enabled her to protect Albertan contractors and business not only for the company exposures but also the clients personal assets and insurance needs. In 2003 she branched out on her own to offer more competitive markets to benefit her clientele. This expansion opened further opportunities and a move to the Edmonton region in 2006. Now in the city and working with Leibel Insurance Group she has found her home with an ethical team which enables her to maintain her 95% retention of clients around our province. She is very proud to represent and serve some of Edmonton’s top non- profit and charitable organizations. She is passionate about communication, knowledge and common sense insurance protection for her clients.

Matt Bergin, CIP

Commercial Lines Account Executive

Matt started his insurance career on the underwriting side of the Insurance industry in 2008, and within a short 3 years he had successfully completed his CIP designation. In 2012 he made the decision to join the brokerage channel of Insurance. Since 2012 Matt has had proven success within the commercial lines account manager and producer roles. His experience provides him with valuable insight in his Commercial Lines Account Executive position.

Being the youngest of 4, with three older sisters, Matt has developed strong communication skills, and has a high attention to detail. A huge travel buff, he has been to every Province and Territory in Canada. Because of his vast knowledge of our country, he brings a unique understanding to the commercial business. Matt specializes in the oil and gas service and transportation industries, narrowing his focus allows Matt to better understand the needs and requirements of his clients.
In addition to travelling, Matt enjoys playing amateur sports including Curling, Soccer, Hockey, and Volleyball. Matt’s future ambitions are to continue his insurance industry education and to keep exploring the world through travel.


Molly Dawn Lacoursiere, CPIB, CAIB

Molly Dawn Lacoursiere, originally from Timmins Ontario has lived in Alberta since 1996.  Her Insurance career began in 1991 in the small town of Squamish, BC where she lived for just under 5 years.  Since beginning her career, Molly has gained her CPIB, CAIB, as well as her Risk Management Certification. After living in British Columbia, she later moved to Grande Prairie AB in 1996 and worked for a small Brokerage there. She has lived in Spruce Grove for the last three years where she has continued to provide her clients’ in the construction, transportation and realty sectors.  Her passion is to build relationships with her clients to better understand their Insurance needs and provide them with Insurance advice that not only protects their financial interests but ensures the coverage chosen, makes sense.  As an Advisor, she provides tools to her clients that give them peace of mind knowing that they are adequately insured for the unknown.

Away from the office, Molly can be found enjoying the beautiful province of Alberta. Her favourite activities include camping, music, and reading.

Joel Scruton

With over 15 prior years of experience in sales and service, Joel joined the insurance industry in 2015. Quickly becoming an asset as a Commercial Account Executive, his commitment to customer service and drive for successful partnerships enabled him to thrive in assisting businesses with their commercial insurance needs. Joel’s primary client focus is working in the trucking and oil and gas sectors. Establishing trusting relationships with his clients, Joel strives to identify and educate businesses on potential risks while finding practical solutions to allow successful growth.

Part of working with Joel is experiencing a step above your average insurance provider. Joel strives to provide his clients with peace of mind including when it comes to providing assistance with a claim. ‘When you purchase insurance, you are buying a stack of paper. When you have a claim, you find out what you bought and who you bought it from.’ Taking claim processing seriously, Joel works with his clients to relieve pressure and stress by acting as their claim advocate, assisting in the full process of filing a claim from start to finish.

When Joel is away from the office, he can be found outdoors. Growing up in Alberta, he appreciates each season for their own qualities. Living a very active lifestyle, you can find Joel participating in one of his many favourite activities which include hiking, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, and kick boxing.

Patricia has been in the commercial insurance industry for more than 10 years and is a self-declared insurance nerd. She enjoys providing peace of mind along with a well-designed commercial insurance program and backing it up with quality service. Patricia has experience in wide range of differing risks including construction, oil and gas, logistics, realty, service, retail and manufacturing. She is also working towards her CIP designation. Patricia’s favorite places in the world are the beaches of Nova Scotia and Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta.

Monique has been in the insurance industry since 2012. She started in Personal Lines and over time has worked her way into Commercial Lines. She has strong attention to detail and is dedicated to making sure her clients are well looked after. As their broker, she strives to meet and exceed her clients expectations. Monique’s future educational goal is to complete her CAIB designation. In her spare time Monique enjoys spending time with family and friends, the outdoors, and relaxing at home with a good book.

Carrie Moffat has been in the insurance industry for 15 years, focusing on Personal Lines. She brings to Leibel Insurance dedicated customer service and a keen attention to detail as an Account Manager in the Commercial Lines department. Applying her extensive insurance background will allow Carrie to assist clients professionally and confidently to ensure all of their insurance needs are met. This new chapter in her career has Carrie eager and excited to learn more about the Commercial Insurance side of the industry.

When not at work Carrie enjoys spending time with friends and family as well as cheering on her favorite sports teams.

Janet Balanay

Janet holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics. She is currently working on completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Administration with an accounting major and actively enrolled in the CPA Professional Education Program. She was born and raised in the Philippines and migrated to Canada 8 years ago. With over 4 years of extensive accounting experience in a variety of industries such as insurance, car dealerships and construction, she has gained a unique and wide-ranged skill set that has helped her succeed to management accounting roles.

Janet understands the importance of keeping family a top priority while staying on top of career demands, so when not crunching numbers, she spends quality time with her husband and their beautiful 5-year-old daughter. She enjoys travelling overseas  and has already visited many major cities in Asia with her family. She also often visits the Philippines to see her parents, siblings and childhood friends.

Her compassion to work with people and love of continuous learning has brought her to the ever busy world of insurance. Growing up on a farm, Jamie is passionate about all things outdoors. From camping to fishing and quading, Jamie is incredibly comfortable with the outdoors. Her love for the environment has her highly interested in specializing in farm insurance in the near future.
